Public transcript browsing on the web stays free. Public API transcript requests cost 1 credit for each successful transcript. Synchronous requests freeze 1 credit while the request runs, then capture it on success or release it on failure.

Bulk API jobs freeze 1 credit per submitted item when the job is accepted. Successful transcript items are charged 1 credit each when the job settles, and failed items release their unused frozen credits.
